Behind the Bubbles: Life with Our Divemaster Interns
One of the best parts about working in the diving industry is getting to share the lifestyle — not just with divers who visit for a week, but with those who want to dive deeper (pun intended 😉) into this world. Enter: our Divemaster Interns.
These are the salty souls who trade city shoes for flip-flops and swap boardrooms for briefing boards. They come from all walks of life, with one shared goal: turning their passion for diving into a profession. And let me tell you, working with them is an adventure in itself.
From Day One to Dive Pro
Watching someone go from nervous bubble-maker to confident leader underwater is seriously rewarding. There’s something magical about seeing their confidence grow with every dive, every skill mastered, and every moment of ocean-induced joy.
It’s not all sunshine and sea turtles — there are long days, early mornings, gear hauls, and plenty of sand in places it shouldn’t be — but that’s what makes it real. We laugh a lot. Sometimes we struggle. But we grow, together, as a salty little dive tribe.
Why It Matters
As a PADI Instructor, mentoring Divemaster Interns reminds me of why I started this journey. It’s more than a certification. It’s about building respect for the ocean, taking responsibility, and being part of a community that thrives underwater.
Plus, it’s just fun. We’ve had interns cook BBQs, spot rare marine life before I even noticed it, and completely nail a dive briefing while I sip my post-dive coffee like a proud parent.
Want In?
If you’re thinking about taking the plunge and becoming a Divemaster, let this be your sign. It’s challenging, rewarding, and unforgettable. You’ll learn the ropes, build experience, and become a part of something bigger than yourself — a global dive family.
